KOLANDA EARTH curates artwork using satellite imagery as an artistic medium. The process involves manipulating the bands of light reflectance to create abstract, artistic representations of the Earth’s natural features. This piece is derived from satellite imagery captured over the Jostedalsbreen Nasjonalpark area of Norway. This is a true color image which has been optimized through tonemapping. The rugged and heavily forested terrain is interwoven with deep valleys and steep slopes filled with fog.
THE PRODUCT MATERIAL:
The purchased art comes printed on matte paper with an uncoated finished along with a wooden frame which you can assemble easily. Once assembled, the artwork is protected within the frame by shatterproof plexiglass. You may hang the artwork using either the horizontal or vertical hanging hardware that comes already attached to the frame (note: The default orientation of your print when ordered will have true north upwards like your average map. If you choose to hang the artwork differently, the top will no longer point north). The frame thickness is 0.79".
